With seven studio albums under their belt, Black Label Society has been pumping out heavy metal for over a decade.
In the two decades since OZZY OSBOURNE plucked him from obscurity and hired him to be his new guitarist, Black Label Society front man ZAKK WYLDE has established himself as a guitar icon and is regularly cited as a major influence by the latest wave of metal guitarists. After Ozzy (temporarily) retired in 1992, Zakk and drummer Phil Ondich formed Black Label Society and recorded their debut album Sonic Brew. Their latest release, Shot To Hell takes the ferocious hard rock of such BLS albums as 2003’s Blessed Hellride and 2005’s Mafia to a whole new level of “brewtality.” The band has toured consistently over the years and was the second stage headliners at 2006’s Ozzfest.
Happily for fans of gut-busting, ear-blasting, engine-revving rock and roll, Zakk won’t be retiring from performing or recording any time soon. If their latest album is any indication, Black Label Society still has plenty of juice left in the bottle.
Be sure to catch Black Label Society when they rock the stage at The Sound Academy on April 4th!
