Producer/engineer/guitarist Doug Grean is living his life in the media lately, proudly sharing the culmination of ten years worth of collaborative work on SCOTT WEILAND’s new solo album, Happy In Galoshes, just released on November 25th. Grean is also the leader/arranger of Weiland’s current band lineup.

Grean is no stranger to the limelight, having worked with such luminaries as Sheryl Crow, Ricki Lee Jones, Glen Campbell, Slash, Velvet Revolver, Stone Temple Pilots, The Crystal Method, Tim McGraw, Cyndi Lauper, Annabella Lwin (Bow Wow Wow), Corey Glover (Living Color), Camp Freddy, DJ Hurricane, and John Taylor (Duran Duran). In 2005, Grean appeared on the 47th annual Grammy awards with Velvet Revolver as keyboardist, performing 'All Across The Universe' with Stevie Wonder, Norah Jones, Bono, Steven Tyler, Brian Wilson, and Alison Krauss.

Now, Grean has kicked it up yet another notch, most notably taking over the first 20 minutes of Weiland’s Howard Stern interview on Tuesday, November 18TH, filling in for Weiland, who was late getting to the studio. "Howard Stern was a big surprise,” Grean reveals. “Scott was late, and I was in the studio getting ready to play. Howard just turned to me and said, ‘I'm going to interview this guy,’ and it progressed from there. It was organic because Howard and his people are just really easy to talk to.” After Weiland's arrival, he and Grean performed 'Killing Me Sweetly'.

Next, Weiland and Grean went on to perform their song 'Missing Cleveland', on Friday, November 21st on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. According to Grean, "Leno went terrific. Everyone played and sang well. It's always an honor to be on that show. Jay makes a point of shaking everybody’s hand when you’re done with the song. He does that every night. That's classy.”

Then on Monday, November 24th, just one day before the release of Happy In Galoshes, they played a free show for fans at LA’s famous Hollywood & Highland. "The Hollywood & Highland gig was the idea of Scott's manager, and was a great idea at that. We set a whole stage up in the middle of the courtyard and played a free eight-song set for the fans. It was our first full set as a band, so those fans got to see something special. Then Scott went over to the Virgin Megastore and signed over 300 CDs."

Then on Wednesday, November 26th, Weiland and Grean performed 'Missing Cleveland', as well as 'Barbarella' (from Weiland’s previous solo album 12 Bar Blues) on Jimmy Kimmel Live. “The Kimmel show is a blast,” Grean continues. “It's like a big party every time I've been there. I thought the Kimmel performance was even better then the Leno gig. They make you feel like you're playing a little club when you play there... it's easy to forget about the whole TV thing. After the show taped, Jimmy went outside and cooked steaks for his whole crew. When I left at 8:30 PM, he was still out behind the theater grilling steaks. It’s obvious what a good guy he is."

In the midst of all this, Grean, Weiland and the rest of the band are gearing up for a tour, which starts December 3rd in Boston and goes into February and possibly beyond…
