DAGON To Release New Album Through Bombworks Records
December 11, 2008, 15 years ago
Bombworks Records reports:
Bombworks Records is joining forces again with ocean metallers DAGON to release their second full length.
Rising from the ashes of Michigan band BESTIARY, Dagon puts their own spin on the metal genre by combining old school thrash, Scandinavian death, and good ol' 80's rock and roll.
After their independently released EP Secrets Of The Deep, Dagon released their debut full length Paranormal Ichthyology on Bombworks Records in March 2007.
The music features several helpings of dueling guitar leads, thundering bass, catchy melodic lines, and a duel vocalist approach (utilizing deep death growls ala CRYPTOPSY and black metal shrieks), as well as a serious infatuation with all things related to the ocean. Influences range from SUFFOCATION, DARK TRANQUILLITY, IRON MAIDEN, SLAYER and HYPOCRISY.
Dagon's new full length will feature a re-recording of fan favorite 'Feeding Frenzy' as well as a slate of killer new tracks. The new album will be recorded in Michigan at Random Awesome! Recording Studio, with a spring 2009 release planned.
