HEAVEN AND HELL Update: Geezer Butler Clarifies - "Basic Tracks For New Album Have Been Laid Down... Ready To Go In Next Couple Of Months"
December 12, 2008, 15 years ago
As previously reported, HEAVEN AND HELL - the band featuring legendary BLACK SABBATH members Ronnie James Dio (vocals), Tony Iommi (guitar), Geezer Butler (bass) and Vinny Appice (drums) - have been holed up at Rockfield Studios in Wales recording a new album, the group's first since the band's Dehumanizer (which was also recorded at Rockfield) in 1992.
Butler has issued a brief update this week, stating simply: "Finished the Heaven And Hell tracks today. Video-ing the Making Of tomorrow."
Geezer has now issued a follow-up remark to his previous comment: "Just to add to my previous statement, and to clarify, the basic tracks for the new Heaven And Hell album have been laid down, and I can report it has been a pleasurable experience writing and recording with Ronnie, Tony and Vinny. We hope to have the album finished, mixed and ready to go in the next couple of months.
Meanwhile, I would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas, Chanukah Sameach, happy Kwanzaa, Joyeux Noel, Froehliche Weihnachten, happy holidays, and a heavenly peaceful new year. See you on the road sometime in 2009!"
