THE NEW BLACK, featuring SINNER guitarist Christof Leim, have issued the following update:

"Friends,

2008 did rock mightly, and the whole TNB thing got underway. But the year couldn't have ended any cooler as we played two amazing gigs:

On December 2nd we played with BLACK STONE CHERRY at Cologne's Underground, the day after that we supported the mighty - can you believe it? Christof is still drooling - BLACK LABEL SOCIETY at Cologne's Live Music Hall. Holy shit!

Did you know that our band started because Fabs and Christof didn't have an outlet for their BLS style riffs? Were you aware of the fact that early demos were titled 'Black Leimsen Society'? Did you know that we all would love to grow a beard like Zakk but our girls think it's too scratchy? Boy, we were psyched. Huge New Blackthanks to Julia Frank and Antonia Zweigardt for making it happen, and the same to Martin Zowislok for asking us to play with Black Stone Cherry.

Talking of which.. niice dudes, cool band (that boy can sing...geeez), awesome crew - and an amazing audience. The Black Stone Cherry people loved us! We couldn't believe that they actually screamed for encores, bought shirts and made us feel love. Wait for next month's Rock Hard mag for a report (we were told).

The Black Label audience of course was a tougher nut to crack. But we would open for AC/DC and SLAYER on the same night, if necessary. A lot of beardy guys and fans (like us) waiting for the man, so the unknown support band 'The New ... something...want another beer?' wasn't that important. But: We were ordered to rock, and rock we did. But we went over well, didn't get any bottles of piss thrown at us, or in fact didn't get booed at at all. And well, we do have a couple of riffs that might appeal to the disciples of the man, right? ;-) All in all: We fuckin' loved it. And BLS rocked the shit out of Cologne later, and we were there. Ha!"
