ShutterBLAST.net has posted pictures from SATYRICON's December 18th show in Munich, Germany at the Metropolis. Check them out at this location.
As previously reported, Metal-Portal.net recently caught up with Satyricon's Frost to discuss the band's new album, The Age Of Nero. An excerpt is available below:
Q: It's natural for me that as a musician you're open minded and you don't have any problems with working with such a people like Daron Malakian (SYSTEM OF A DOWN). But there are still some people who would criticise you for that. They see you and your band as a black metal icon. From one side it's an honour. But from the other hand it may be a burden and limitation. Do you even care about such opinions?
Frost: "Black metal is about not to show conformity. If I had to think about what others might think about what I say or what I do, I myself will do show conformity. All the expectations of others around about how must I behave correctly, they're extremely childish. And it's impossible for intelligent human being with a certain integrity to have any kind of respect for that behaviour. We have grown up to be a real mature man so it doesn't make any sense anymore. I come to point that I think that it doesn't matter if there are people who think that you can do something and still keep your reputation. Well, fuck the reputation. I can't decide what others should think of me. There's only one way to be true for the human. And that is to follow your own ideas. It's the basic principle for satanism, individuality and elitism which is so praised on the black metal scene. It's a boring discussion. I really hope that we get away from that. Now luckily it is less intense then before. I think that most people have realised that it's very limited way of thinking. Maybe it is good for the 17 years old person. You have to remember that when Norwegian scene was born it was created by 16,17,18 years old people. And im order for it to function, there was perhaps a demand for certain regulations, guidelines and certain rules of behaviour. Because all those young but also very vital and creative people needed some guidelines to really create the scene. It was necessary to define and categorize because if the new direction would be created without any rules it'd turn into complete chaos. But also as soon as rock started to roll, and people grew older they've realised that they have to find out for themselves which direction to take and which truths are right for them. Because there's no truth that is valid for all. Each individual must have his or hers own truths and has to find out those truths."
