DSG/DAVID SHANKLE GROUP singer Kyle Michaels has posted the following message on the band's MySpace page.

"I met David "Shred Demon" Shankle long ago before his recording days with MANOWAR and before I was a recording artist with Shrapnel / Roadrunner Records. We were both still playing covers; and just starting to make a name for ourselves in the Local area. Neither of us remembers much of that time do to the decadence that was the '80s. Fast forward to 2005. We became reacquainted when I came back from Los Angeles and David had finished his first record with Magic Circle Music. DSG was looking for a singer to replace an old friend of mine Trace Zaber (vocalist on the Ashes to Ashes Recording) it was actually Trace and Lloyd Freeze that put together the original phone meeting between David and Myself.

I had a great conversation with David that night filled with stories of past experiences with metal greats like Manowar, Geezer Butler of BLACK SABBATH, and many others we have both worked with, met and have become friends with through our years of recording, interviews, shows and wild after parties both in the USA and internationally.

I received the DSG Material and I remember saying to myself upon first listen, 'theses songs are fucking great', this sound and vibe are perfect for my voice, my ideas and my image.'

David and I decided we should meet face to face, so I went to my first DSG show and the band was amazing. Tight, powerful and having an effortless time with this very challenging material. David was doing things on guitar I had never seen before and I was very excited to get started working with this new explosive band and this unbelievably talented guitar player.

I joined forces with DSG and we began rehearsing. Soon after, we took a show opening for DOKKEN at the Rave in Wisconsin. We torched the audience that night and Don Dokken's guitar player took the time to congratulate David and I on such a great show. After the show we hung out at the bar where people came up to us and told us they were very happy to see us on the bill that night….we grew our fan base and entertained them while they witnessed our controlled chaos, on stage.

We as a band continued on and had every intention of writing a recording a new record to tour with. Unfortunately, due to inner conflicts among all of us in the band, this line up of DSG came to an end. All of the past members are still friends and I talk to them from time to time, I'm happy to see them when I do, as we all know, its just one of those things that happens…

Now…. years later…I'm back with David and together we have re-formed DSG with all new members. Starting with players that the two of us, have hand picked from the experience, great attitude, world class talent and the look that David and I believe our audience deserves. All the while knowing we have all the material from the first two DSG records, we are writing a new record and getting ready to put a live show together with a mix of new material and an intoxicating witching brew of our past.

We are filling a void that has been missing for years in our genera of music……

Great songs, great live show….heavy as hell, powerful, shredding guitars with soaring killer vocals, all on top of a monstrous rhythm section complimented by orchestral compositions of the most eerie and familiar nightmare.

On this new DSG site we have created, you will find rare and unreleased material starting with the Hellborn CD. These recordings are with the original DSG Line up from Hellborn, except what you hear now is Drake's performances from collaborations with David and I have re-recorded all the vocals. These are my performances from the collaborations with David giving these songs the twists, turns, melody and power they deserve. As you listen to these songs, you can imagine what the new DSG material will sound like that we are now writing for the new record…its everything you expect from DSG and delivers much more than ever heard before. Included here are 'The Lie', 'Asylum God' and 'Bleeding Hell' all produced by David Shankle. The next sets of songs are the original and very first recordings David and I completed for Magic Circle Music when I became the new singer in DSG in 2005. These recordings of the Ashes To Ashes CD Feature the line up and performances from the actual record….with the only difference being my Vocal performances from my collaborations with David…These recordings included 'Ashes To Ashes', 'Raven At Midnight' and 'Curse Of The Pharaoh' again all are produced by David Shankle: The music you hear now and what you will witness from the new DSG line up will be a very unique blend of venom and antidote, as we shed our skin and reveal our new sound and our new self.

A metal and gothic appeal continuing the legacy, blessed by the original fires started by the masters and gods long ago….

Like the chosen one that accepts the gift of a new beginning. We are here to claim our place as the devastating storm that is."
