ALICE COOPER BAND Reunion Rumours Grow
January 13, 2009, 15 years ago
Gibson.com is reporting:
Monster-Mania.com, the official website for Monster-Mania Con 12, an annual gathering of horror film and memorabilia aficionados, is advertising an ALICE COOPER Billion Dollar Babies Reunion, which apparently is set to take place on – appropriately enough – Friday, March 13, 2009.
Although there has been no official announcement from Alice Cooper or his representatives, the original surviving members of the Alice Cooper band – Michael Bruce (guitar), Dennis Dunaway (bass) and Neal Smith (drums) – will all be in attendance during Monster-Mania Con 12, which is scheduled for March 13-15 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Cherry Hill, N.J.
The band's last public performance was a set at Cooper’s 2006 Christmas Pudding show in Phoenix, Ariz., which is Cooper’s annual fundraiser for the Solid Rock Center, an organization that helps troubled teens. This year’s gathering – held just last month – featured Bob Welch of Fleetwood Mac and the Doors’ Robby Krieger.
The band's other original guitar player, Glen Buxton, died in 1997 of complications from pneumonia, just shy of his 50th birthday. He was the co-writer of such Cooper classics as 'School's Out' and 'I'm Eighteen'.
