ORPHANED TO HATRED Vocalist Brandon McBride: "NICK MENZA Is About As Cool A Guy As You'd Ever Want To Work With"
January 22, 2009, 15 years ago
Randy "Rocket" Cody of The Metal Den has issued an exclusive interview with Brandon McBride, vocalist for ex-MEGADETH great Nick Menza's new band ORPHANED TO HATRED.
The following is an excerpt:
Q: What's it been like to work with such a legendary heavy metal drummer as Menza?
A: "Nick Menza is about as cool of a guy as you'd ever want to work with. Particularly in the metal world, where lack of ambition and delusion run rampant. His prevailing nature and the overall common interest we share for authentic metal are the foundation of the relationship and not his past affiliation with Megadeth."
Q: OTH self-released War Plow EP in 2007. Do you guys have more material that you have written?
A: "Indeed, there's another two albums of material just waiting to get out there. The challenge is getting a full band that is capable of living up to the 90' standard of a mega metal band. Pardon the pun."
Q: OTH is currently looking for a new guitarist and bassist. How does the audition process work for that and can you elaborate on the type of players are you looking for?
A: "We need professionals that can pull off 'Dime style' playing that is largely lost to the metal world. Send all inquires to the OTH MySpace page."
Q: Some people will say that OTH is ripping off PANTERA riffs. What do you say to those detractors?
A: "The best answer is don't listen to it if you don't like it."
