DEFIANCE Complete Basic Tracks For New Album; Former FORBIDDEN/TESTAMENT Guitarist Glen Alvelais To Guest
February 2, 2009, 15 years ago
Oakland-based thrashers DEFIANCE check in with the following update:
"We haven't given an update in a while, and thought we should let everyone know that we have completed all the basic tracks for the 11 songs that will be on our first album for Candlelight Records. All that is left are some vocals and guitar leads for the last four tunes we recorded at the end of 2008 at Trident Studios. We are going to have a special guest on the album too. (Guitarist) Glen Alvelais (ex-FORBIDDEN/TESTAMENT) has offered to help us by busting out some sick leads to help fill the void left by Doug. We are stoked to have him on our album, and we truly appreciate it.
Steev (Esquivel, vocals) has been hard at work busting out his tracks at Greendot studios. Here is an update straight from the source:
"Ahhh shit... as if I don't have enough metal in my life... thought I would update everyone on the new Defiance album.... which is coming
out slammin by the way.
Everything is sounding bad ass, and sure to be one of the best thrash albums to come out in a while. The guys have really fuckin' outdone
themselves this time. What was meant to be some friends having fun and paying tribute to our fallin brother Doug Harrington, has completly turned into a monster that none of us even knew it would turn into. Lot's of thrash and tons of screaming!!
Vocals for the first 6 songs are 95% done and recorded, the end of the recording process is near and sounding fuckin' killer at that. Juan should be throwing some mixes together here very soon, as were shooting for a mid 2009 release... we'll be sure to keep you all looped."
