Leader Eric Syre recently reveaded some album details:
"Résistance will be our first album featuring lyrics fully written in french (we used to have one song in french on past releases). Speaking of the lyrics, you'll be able to read a rough translation of them on our website a little closer to the release date (we're looking to have them translated in english, german and will consider one or two additional languages, Get in touch and we could consider adding it in your language). It was important to write the lyrics in french but since the theme of the album has a such global appeal I'd like you to understand what it's all about, of course. The album also features some additions to our sound, including Theremin and vintage synth. I felt this album needed different layers and textures and we wanted to avoid working with samples and prefrabricated sounds. Both these instruments add an eerie and somewhat oldschool electronic touch to our material. The production is also a little rougher than the one on our previous album "Exist!". We felt it was important to avoid over-producing our music and to give it a much more natural and real feel to it. We recorded and mixed the album in our home-studio and avoided "over-mastering" it, so to speak. It was out of question to try to get into this loudness war bands are into right now. Everything is kept dynamic and audible while the volume remains at a standard level. No 'deathmagnetism' here... If some of you need to hear it louder, just raise the volume knob on your player.
This album will also be our first with a 'different' concept for the cover. Instead of going in details over it, here it is (at left, click to enlarge).
The artwork still features our trademark logo but this time its repeated to form an almost "pop-art" pattern over a dead TV channel. We thought about keeping the 'background color' concept but let's face it, one day or another we'd have to use a yellow background to complete the spectrum and this is obviously a no brainer...
The inside of the booklet will also feature a photomontage similar to the one you can find on our split 7" with AKITSA. The whole lyrical theme suited this kind of 'crust-punk' artwork real well, I think."
