JANNE STARK Working On Third Encyclopedia Of Swedish Hard Rock And Heavy Metal

Swedish guitarist JANNE STARK (OVERDRIVE, LOCOMOTIVE BREATH) has issued the following update:
"There's a lot of stuff going on at the moment, I'm happy to say. First of all I have a track entitled 'True Temperament' on the Shredguy Records compilation Shredding Across The World Vol 2 in good company with guys like TRACY G, NEAL GRUSKY, MICHAEL HARRIS, TOBY KNAPP and MATHIAS HOLM. The latter also added a guest solo on the forthcoming album by our new "melogressive" band CONSTANCIA. We have received and jumped at an offer we will get back to shortly, but it's a great label I highly respect. The debut album, entitled Lost And Gone, is currently in the final mixing stage. We had trial mixes from highly respected guys like Beau Hill, Pontus Norgren, Pelle Saether and Pontus Lindmark, but we finally went for Fredrik Folkare (ECLIPSE, UNLEASHED) who managed to capture the essence of what we are - melodic rock, slightly progressive and a bit aggressive - melogressive! The band features myself on guitars, David Fremberg (ANDROMEDA) on vocals, Mikael Rosengren (TOKEN, SCUDIERO) on keyboards, Michael Mueller (Jaded Heart) on bass and TrumPeter Svensson (FAITH, Locomotive Breath) on drums.I have also started working on my next MOUNTAIN OF POWER album. It's still covers of more or less obscure '70s stuff I grew up with. Just eight weeks before he passed away I had a mail conversation with Mel Galley about doing a TRAPEZE song and he asked me to do 'Monkey', which is one of my favourites and I will do it in his honour. Other bands on the "possible contestants" list this time around are TRIGGER, DIAMOND REO, RORY GALLAGHER, MAX WEBSTER, OZZ, FRANK MARINO, DIRTY TRICKS and CAIN. This time I will have international guests and some pretty great names have accepted, too! The plan is to have it out on Grooveyard Records around, or just after, summer.
On another note I'm working on the third encyclopedia of Swedish hard rock and heavy metal. This time I will include ALL bands from the first two books, updated and completed, plus all I missed out and all that have been added. I've actually just passed 2500 bands! The plan is to have it out by the end of the year. But before that we also plan to have a new OVERDRIVE (www.overdrive.se) album recorded and ready. A bunch of new songs have already been written and it will carry on in the vein of Let The Metal Do The Talking. We hope to get out and do some festivals in Europe in the summer, too. We are furthermore working on releasing the latest album in a limited vinyl edition."
