Former FREHLEY'S COMET vocalist/keyboardist/guitarist Tod Howarth announced on Wednesday (February 18th): "I will be going into surgery tomorrow (February 19th) for deviated septum repair - in other words, to even out my nasal passages... sounds great eh? Sounds like a nose job but it isn't (who really would care) anyhow the doc says that I will breath so much better (I've known this for years but never acted on it) and I will have even greater lung capacity which I found intriguing just before I start sing all the final vocals on the new CD. The healing time is minimal, so I'm told, and that it should not change my vocal timbre....we'll see.

Tod issued the following update today (Feburary 20th):

"Thank you everyone for the great messages, comments, stories, suggestions about my going under the knife yesterday! It went well and rather quickly. I spent all of the day drifting in and out of real time I guess, and swallowing small amounts of blood... sorry... so that was the worst of it really, the slightly annoying nausea was to be expected.

Now I'm just laying low all weekend with a gauze diaper under my nose, reading, watching some movies and trying to stay tethered to the bed. (I don't sit still too well.)

Thanks again for all the e-mails, messages and phone texts etc... Soon, I'm back at work on the CD.

Best to you all from a medicated Tod Howarth."
