KROKUS' Fernando Von Arb - "If You Throw Me And Mark Storace Into The Battle, We Stick Together"
February 24, 2009, 15 years ago
Fernando Von Arb from KROKUS talked to Rockpages.gr recently, about a variety of topics. Here's an excerpt from this exclusive interview where Fernando discusses his turbulent relation with Mark Storace:
Q: You had a long and turbulent relation with singer Mark Storace. There were many times that he came and left (or let go), but he’s also the characteristic voice of Krokus. How do you get along with him nowadays?
A: "There again, Chris von Rohr comes into the game. He’s the guy who has the talent to keep these different personalities “under control” and “together”. Like in the old days and in that way there is always a period of Chris and me working intensively together and then a time where Mark and Chris are sticking their heads together. It’s just like in the old days. On stage on one hand and in the party zone on the other hand, Mark and I anyway never have had a problem. Let’s say it this way – if you throw us into the battle, we stick together."

BraveWords.com recently received the following press release:
Krokus has come "full circle". Almost 30 years later, the most successful rock band of Switzerland returns in its original line-up to the label they worked with during the hey days of their biggest success in the early 80’s. Partnered with Ariola and Arista, Krokus became an international success and ran up the charts with their hit albums Metal Rendez-Vous (1980), Hardware (1981), One Vice At A Time (1982), Headhunter (1983 - #25 in the US Billboard Charts), The Blitz (1984) and Change Of Address (1986). On a regular basis Krokus reached Top 40 status in the USA, Great Britain and Germany and charted always on the Top in their native Switzerland.
Vocalist Marc Storace, bassist (and producer) Chris Von Rohr, lead guitarist Fernando Von Arb, rhythm guitarist Mark "Koki" Kohler and drummer Freddy Steady signed with Sony a woldwide contract. The release date for their first new product – long anticipated by fans as the "real Krokus album" – is planned towards the end of this year. The popularity of the return of the originals was clearly demonstrated during their first reunion concert last August. Over 10,000 euphoric fans welcomed Krokus at the "Stade De Suisse" in Bern.
Julie Born, General Manager Sony Music Switzerland: "The Signing represents a milestone for our label. We are totally excited that the most successful Swiss Rock Band of all times decided to sign with Sony Music."
Krokus: "We’re back – the home of our greatest successes worldwide. For us it was important to find the combination of a relaxed and inspiring work environment. With Sony Music by our side, we have the strongest local partner on our side and at the same time a worldwide release guaranteed. Truly a "win – win" situation."
With over a million units sold alone in their country of origin, Krokus is the most successful band in Switzerland’s rock history. Worldwide, the band sold in excess of 30 million albums. With the new, reunited originals the next chapter of Krokus history will be written.
The long wait is over - welcome back home!
