Swedish/Greek melodic death metal outfit NIGHTRAGE entered Studio Fredman with producer Fredrik Nordström on February 23rd to record their fourth album, entitled Wearing A Martyr's Crown. The release is tentatively set for late June.
The band have now issued Studio Diary Part 1, which states:
"Good evening,We are but two days into the recording sessions of our new album Wearing A Martyr's Crown at Studio Fredman, and things are going great. Yesterday we hooked up the drums and let Jo warm up a bit before recording the first song. Today the man/machine drummer has already recorded an additional four songs, so if we keep up this brisk pace we may be able to go fishing the last week instead. Not likely though...
For those of you who are not familiar with the intrigues of Gothenburg metal, Studio Fredman recently moved to a new location (again) near a deserted factory area in the forgotten outskirts of the city. The studio brandishes state of the art equipment and an awesome recording room. In addition to that, we have the privilege to work with two professional and dedicated engineers by the names Henke and Andy.
If you know your Christian traditions, you know that today is the day that some cultures call "Fat Tuesday". In Sweden that means you eat dangerous amounts of a pastry called "Semla". The semla is a cardamon-spiced bun filled with good stuff such as cream and almond paste. It is the one and only thing in Swedish cuisine that foreigners actually like, which our drummer proved today. We left him a couple of extra in the fridge as booster energy packs for the night's recording sessions.
Keep visiting for more updates about the recording!"
