NIGHTRAGE - Studio Diary Part III, Photo Shoot; Pics Available
March 5, 2009, 15 years ago
Swedish/Greek melodic death metal outfit NIGHTRAGE entered Studio Fredman with producer Fredrik Nordström on February 23rd to record their fourth album, entitled Wearing A Martyr's Crown. The release is tentatively set for late June.
The band have now issued Studio Diary Part III, which states:
"As some of you may know, Nightrage has taken the art of being a multi-national band to a new level; Marios, Anders and Olof live in Gothenburg, Jo in Belgium and Antony in Arizona. We won’t even begin to go into the nationalities of the different members. Obviously, this fact some times causes logistical problems. For example, Jo was in Sweden for one week to record drums for the new album. Antony arrived from the States yesterday, and Jo flew home today. That left us with less than a day with the whole band together, so we only had this short window of time to get some photos for the album. In addition to this, on that same day we had two birthdays in Studio Fredman - Henke the engineer and Jo both celebrated their births the 3rd of March. We have never had so much cake in such a short time as during this recording - good that we didn’t do the photo shoot later…
We had the honor of having Patrik Ulleaus of Revolver Film Company work with us for the photo shoot. You have all seen his work in music videos with bands such as Dimmu Borgir, Arch Enemy, Evergrey and In Flames. Patrik is an excellent photographer who made it very easy too capture the mood and aggression that we believe suit the music of Nightrage. We also made some experimental stuff which was a lot of fun; you’ll definitely see some of that material on MySpace within the near future.
Now the drums and bass are completely finished, and Olof and Marios have worked away a good chunk of the rhythm guitars. Today Antony started recording his underwordly growls, so the recording is obviously progressing at a great pace.
Enjoy some pictures of the photo shoot, and of course the usual random stuff. Laters!"
