SAXON frontman Biff Byford has issued the following update:

"Driving through Lincolnshire on a sunny morning as the sun casts a long shadow across the majestic cabbage trees, one is struck how flat the fens are. An old farmer once told me you don’t have a view here it's an outlook - nevertheless it was a nice morning as we pulled in to the market place in downtown Spalding.

An eery silence greeted us as if the town new why we were here, we looked around nervously where would the mystery voice be, we walked over to the bread shop and stood outside our fingers not far from our phones in case of trouble. We must have stood there for what seemed like hours. About ten minutes, I turned to Thomas: he was gone! Where was he? I could feel the panic rising like an escaping balloon at Disney, I searched the horizon, could the voice have took him? This was not good.

My thoughts were suddenly disturbed by noise behind me Iturned: there he was in the shop surrounded by school boys in grey trousers and white shirts, their blazers tied around their waists. Apparently this was their pie shop and some fat German bloke was buying all the pies and cornish pasties in sight. He likes English food does Thomas chicken tika pies, tandoori pasties and the traditional sweet chili bacon sarni after. Leaving the boys nothing much for lunch except a couple of cheese sticks, he marched out oblivious to the chaos inside the shop with kids panic buying anything for there lunch break.

We sat and ate, well I ate he gorged himself with 50 young eyes followed his every bite. As we sat there I noticed a green range rover slide into the square the one like farmers have and people that think their are farmers because they have a big garden or live in the country. It circled a while stopped to look at the big guy guarding his food like a vulture, and then drove off. I waited, he ate it wasn’t long before the four-by-four returned and took up position across the far side of the market place. Was this it? Was the tape bound and gagged in the the back or was it just someone shopping for eggs? You need a land rover to shop for eggs, you could get stuck in mud or something.

We stood and starred waiting for a sign. The air thick with tension, like removing a nose hair, we strolled across not wanting to look conspicuous but failing miserably. The windows were blacked out, there it stood engine running like a scene from Duel or Christine, the window cracked open an inch smoke billowed out he was a heavy smoker or the car was on fire. Thomas gasped he’s smoking he whimpered (I must say at this point in my story that Thomas has just stopped).

Be strong I said you can fight this. We moved closer, though the smoke a hand appeared like the police when you don’t need them and gestured us over there. You got the money a voice said. It was him, Thomas held up the briefcase. Is it all here said the voice as he snatched the case inside and counted the cash it took awhile. 50 pounds is a lot of money. Can I keep the case said the voice. I suppose so said Thomas nervously. Can I have my pie, what said the voice, there’s a cornish pasty in case said Thomas, you could have cut the atmosphere with a carrot the silence seemed to go on forever like a bad dream. Suddenly a box was thrust out of the window.

I grabbed it and held it safe. the rover sped off scattering schools kids everywhere. We have the tape I screamed holding it aloft like some mighty broad sword, we retreated to the pie shop, we’ve got nothing left said the surly waitress, two tees please, we sat and stared at the box it starred back should we open it?

To be continued..."
