Death Magnetic: METALLICA Event Confirmed For SXSW 09

Death Magnetic: METALLICA is now confirmed for SXSW 09 as part of the Guitar Hero: Metallica showcase at Stubb's next Friday, March 20TH. Other notable additions to the lineup include BAUHAUS' PETER MURPHY, French pop diva YELLE, DANIEL JOHNSTON, DJ SHADOW, HR BAND, BILLY BOB THORNTON & THE BOXMASTERS, CARLENE CARTER, and Japanese psych pioneers FLOWER TRAVELLIN' BAND.
T3.com recently had an exclusive chat with Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett in his only UK interview on the forthcoming Guitar Hero: Metallica video game.
In their audio interview available here, Hammett reveals the band's input into the look and feel of the game, how they chose the 25 classic tracks from their massive back catalogue and their experience of motion capturing their characters.
Hammett also chats about how his video game addiction almost put the brakes on his guitar career, and the modern technology he uses on the road to write songs with just his guitar and his laptop.
