STRATOVARIUS - UK Release Date For New Album Confirmed; Artwork Revealed

Edel entertainment's international label earMUSIC has announced the hotly-tipped new studio album from Finland’s premiere power metal stars STRATOVARIUS entitled Polaris, will be released in the UK on May 18th.
According to a press, Polaris is Helsinki-based Stratovarius’ first studio album in four years, featuring their trademark blend of powerful melodies and sophisticated arrangement combating 11 tracks fuelled with energy, cutting edge power metal musicianship and a newfound positive outlook. Recorded during fall 2008 at Hästholmen and 5by5 studios, Helsinki, Finland, the album was mixed by studio engineer, Mikko Karmila, resulting in a melodic, powerful, fresh, tight, and technically elaborate new collaboration.
"Polaris is a positive, powerful album that Stratovarius fans all over the world are certain to take to theirhearts,” reflects vocalist Timo Kotipelto.
Fans in the UK will be the very first to see them live in 2009 and witness Kupiainen’s introduction on stage. In addition to that Stratovarius will also perform one show in Warsaw, Poland at Progresja right after the Wacken Rocks festivals.
