ANIMALS AS LEADERS Unveil Artwork, Tracklisting For Debut

Washington, D.C.-based progressive instrumental group ANIMALS AS LEADERS, which features the 7- and 8-string guitar wizardy of former REFLUX guitarist Tosin Abasi, have posted the cover art of their self-titled debut (click image at left to enlarge), due out on April 28th via Prosthetic Records.
The Prosthetic Records webshop is currently offering $8 pre-orders for the album, which features the following tracklisting: 'Tempting Time' (currently streaming on the band's MySpace page), 'Soraya', 'Thoroughly At Home', 'On Impulse', 'Tessitura', 'Behaving Badly', 'The Price Of Everything And The Value Of Nothing', 'CAFO', 'Inamorata', 'Point To Point', 'Modern Meat', 'Song Of Solomon'.
"'Tempting Time' loosely deals with some of the time-based societal pressures that come with getting older," Abasi says. "It's about reconciling your place in your life with where society feels like you should be, and understanding the finite amount of time you have in life to do anything."Although Abasi wrote all the music on the album and played bass in addition to all guitars, he emphasizes that Animals As Leaders is very much a band, and the group has already performed several concerts in and around the Beltway. Additional gigs, including a high-profile return to April's New England Metal and Hardcore Festival (where he performed twice with Reflux), will follow.
