PLACE VENDOME - New Interview Available
March 29, 2009, 15 years ago
The official MICHAEL KISKE Fan Club reports:
PLACE VENDOME is always a special project for Kiske's fans. It's the only project where he sings on all tracks, it's a kind of music which fits perfect for his voice and his musical taste and it's also a stable project. So we wanted to make something special.
And we made a multi-interview with the three main composers plus a few questions with the composer of a song covered by Place Vendome.
The three main writers of the new Place Vendome album Streets Of Fire are: Ronny Milianowicz (PRIMAL FEAR, SAINT DAEMON), Torsti Spoof (LEVERAGE), Robert Säll (WORK OF ART), Magnus Karlsson (Primal Fear, BOB CATLEY). and Larry King (SOLEIL MOON).
A few excerpts from the interview follow:
Magnus Karlsson: "I actually think that Michael and this album deserve more attention in the media than it gets. This kind of music should be on rotation on MTV and the radio!"
Torsti Spoof: "Kiske has an incredible voice. He has his own way of doing things as a singer which is for me a trade mark of an great artist and musician. He takes the song and makes it his own. The vocal tracks are just filled with these small but very important nuances. They make all the difference. That is the difference of a good and GREAT singer."
Robert Säll: "I've understood that the song 'Valerie' has divided the Place Vendome fans, some love the song an other hates it. I can understand that reaction. To be honest, this was the song that I was surprised that they wanted for the Place Vendome album. But hey, I'm really happy to see that some really like that song, even though it's a bit different than the other songs on the record."
Ronny Milianowicz: "I was quite surprised it didn't get better reviews in my home country's Sweden Rock Magazine. I think people tend to not buy the Kiske-AOR marrige. But if you just listen I think its one of the better albums he did. At least that's my personal opinion."
Larry King: "I wrote 'I'd Die For You' with my good friend Sandy Forman. Sandy and I went to college together at the University of Miami. He was going through a nasty break up with his girlfriend who had cheated on him. This is a genuine interpretation of what he was feeling at the time."
