Guitarist David Parland Launches New Version Of INFERNAL; Demo Samples Uploaded
April 1, 2009, 15 years ago
Former NECROPHOBIC, DARK FUNERAL guitarist David Parland has issued the following:
"To begin with, before I start talking about the state of the recordings, I shall mention that as already seen clearly on the logo on this new MySpace website, that this new band bears the name INFERNAL.Yes! we have chosen to carry on under the same name despite a somewhat change in sound and concept. Still, though, this new version of Infernal is nothing less than a completely new version of the band but with the old name.
Most of the hyperblastbeats are gone, the holocaust theme is mainly gone, the old members from the first MCDs except Tomas, who was on the last MCD are gone as well, and even the old logo is gone. (We might use it though, somewhere in the booklet on the coming full-length, but not as the new head logo.)
Gone are also the artist names such as Blackmoon, Alzazmon, Typhos etc, etc.
And another thing - I (David Parland) am from now on the vocalist (as well as lead guitarist of course).
So, when we started up again - we initially wanted to call the band something totally different, but we never came up with anything good enough, and whenever we did, we found out that these names allready were taken. Anyway, since both myself and Tomas were members of the last real Infernal lineup, and the concept still remains 100% Satanic, we see no reason to call ourselves something less good or half-assed, just because the sound mainly is no longer the hyper blast stuff we used to do in our earlier bands.
This new Infernal is still purely Satanic, but generally has a more accessible sound, more melodic, but still brutal, and with some blast parts as well. We generally want to people to think of this as new band, more or less a complete rebirth of a band that once was (and still is again). We dont want people to even compare it with the old stuff since it's in most ways not the same band.
Anyway, regarding the main thing, the recordings, which should have been totally finished by now, but ain't, due to one specific fact: Tomas plays drums for GORGOROTH as well, and for some reason Roger/Infernus decided to start their album recording simultanelously (about a month earlier than I was originally told) while I/we were working onthe last two tracks of the demo tape. So this simply means the whole planned demo, The Infernal Return, is not yet fully recorded and finished.
But since I see no point in waiting to upload what we have so far, and wait another one a half months to release the complete demo, we'll release what we have completed so far (still not finally mixed, one of the tracks completely missing 'Killing Christ', and one of the track is still missing the main vocals: except the horrible refrain, (on the 'Seven Gates' track), which I did through a guitar amplifier, just to get down the main melody line, as well, solos, bass, and re-recordings of the guitars on the track ('Of The Seven Gates') are still to be done.
As well, the track 'Godforsaken (With Hate I Burn)' stops after about three minutes on this demo version, but will be one and half minutes longer when we have it finished - you will hear on the next update...
Anyway - who gives a fuck, it's NOW time for people to hear at least some new stuff, and here it is: www.myspace.officialinfernal.com.
Demo samples are uploaded on the now 100% official Infernal MySpace site: 'The Darkside Calls' (Intro), 'Godforsaken (With Hate I Burn)', 'Of The Seven Gates' (completely extremely rough version - will be totally re-recorded).
We have, by the way, also added Martin Halfdan (ex-NECROPHOBIC lead guitarist on the albums Darkside and The Third AntiChrist) as a second guitar player. Now only a bass player is missing for a complete lineup.
Finally, another cool thing, which has nothing to do with Infernal, is the song 'Wrathchild' which me and Tomas recorded a while ago with Tobbe Sidegard (Necrophobic vocalist).
This has as said nothing to with Infernal (as it says on the mp3 player, this was just a collaboration between me and Tomas of Infernal and Tobbe of Necrophobic... and won't be released (as far as we're concerned) but is a just a cool thing we did, and it is now uploaded on the official Infernal MySpace music website. Check it out if you want..
Further updates will come very soon since I (David Parland) will lay down vocals and complete the demos (of course I cannot do the drums) for more songs, but I'll work on what is left do be done in the following weeks and as soon as Tomas is ready more songs, more songs will be recorded and uploaded.
Infernal Greetings,
David and Infernal."
