Season Of Mist reports:
PUNISH YOURSELF members' side-project 1969 WAS FINE's debut, ...But 666 Is Alright, is hitting the stores this week. To celebrate, here's a full song from the album. Download 'Bloodstone' here.
Here's the band comment about the song: "'Bloodstone', like a lot of 1969 Was Fine songs, started as an attempt to "pay the dues" to a cult band, MOTÖRHEAD in this case. Which meant, in the band's language: 'Let's try to do a song Lemmy would be happy to play'. In the end, the result was quite far from the original idea: 'Bloodstone' sounds like THE LORDS OF ALTAMONT covering old HAWKWIND stuff... Sci-fi lyrics, distorted organ, glammed-out claps, fat rock'n'roll guitars, this song is a perfect example of 1969 Was Fine at their best: tight, raw, and deeply rooted in the sickest parts of rock'n'roll history."
Here is the tracklist for ...But 666 Is Alright (artwork on the left, click to enlarge): 'Vietnamsexbomb', 'Living In The City', 'Spiders 375 Necromancers', 'Bloodstone', 'La Muerte Hotel', 'Right To Riot (2k6 song)', 'Freewheelin'', 'A Psychosnake', 'Altamont Baby', 'Doctor Doom', 'Altamont Baby' (alternate mix).
