"Funny how media-created genre tags have been the norm in this biz for so long. Generally speaking, Icarus Witch has avoided being nailed down too much and we've relished the outsider status as trend-free, stick to your guns traditionalists. However, when one of the largest hard rock magazines in England contacts you to tell you you're now a part of this movement known as NWOTM (or New Wave Of Traditional Metal) well, that's a tag we can wear with pride, knowing that by not bowing to trends the tastes have finally come around to what we've been doing all along, playing a traditional style of classic, hard rocking old school heavy metal.So we're flattered by the invite to be on the compilation CD {Nature Of The Beast] that accompanies this April 2009 edition of Metal Hammer UK as well as the kind words inside.Particularly these passages:
