KAMELOT Keyboardist On New Band SONS OF SEASONS - "I Needed A Playground For Myself Where I Could Be Creative Without Fulfilling The Visions Of Others"
April 10, 2009, 15 years ago
BW&BK; scribe Carl Begai recently caught up with KAMELOT keyboardist Oliver Palotai to discuss his new band, SONS OF SEASONS. Following is an excerpt from the interview, with Palotai discussing his motivation in launching his own project.
“It seems like I’ve been on a moving train for many, many years, becoming a member of bands that had been around for a long time (DORO, BLAZE). Those bands all have their songwriters, they have certain ways of working, which makes it difficult for me to get into the songwriting part of the band. Composing stuff is very important to me – maybe even a little bit more important than my playing – so I needed a playground for myself where I could be creative without fulfilling the visions of others. It’s not an ego thing; I just like being able to sit down and compose songs the way I want.”Go to this location for the complete interview.
