QUEENSRŸCHE are scheduled to perform on April 18th in Portland, OR. The band recently confirmed an in-store at Music Millennium, and have since announced the following gig pre-functions details:

SECOND: The Pre-Show Party hosted by ANOTHER RAINY EMPYRE is being held at Deschutes Brewery right in Downtown Portland, about 5 blocks from the Roseland Theatre.. .at 2 PM - 6 PM... There is a link to a map for the Deschutes Brewery at this location.

During the Pre-Show Gathering, there are a couple of things going on in the spirit of the new album to support the troops in small ways.

FIRST - We will be taking any old cellular telephones you have laying around the house and donating them to the troops. There is a program that specifically collects old cell phones and refurbishes them so they can be sent overseas to make it easier for our fighting men and women to call home to their loved ones.

SECOND - In honor of the theme of the new album, we will be hosting a drawing for a meet and greet passes for after the Portland Show. The eligibility requirements for this contest are as follows:

1) You must have a valid ticket to the Queensryche show at the Roseland Theater, Portland Oregon, April 18, 2009.

2) You must have verifiable proof that you are currently enlisted or previously enlisted in any of the five branches of the United States Armed Services, the Army, Air Force, Coast Guard, Navy, or Marines.

Two members of Another Rainy Empyre have each gotten a pair of meet and greet passes for the Portland Show, and have decided to donate their 2nd pass to a soldier as a gesture of gratitude of the time and freedoms they have given to protect our own. After much discussion, our group agreed that this was perhaps the most fitting way to show some appreciation to them during our pre-show gathering. These two Empire members have chosen to take a soldier as their guest. No personal gain is being made from this gesture whatsoever, the two of them just felt it was more fitting, due to the theme of the album, to take a soldier than to have their friends fighting over who will be their guest at the meet and greet following the show.

Following the Pre-Show event about 5 PM, everyone will be heading to the venue to line up for the show!
