Dutch rockers VENGEANCE have issued the following statement with regards to the recent departure of long time bassist Barend Courbois:

"Between '97 and '02 Barend played his bass hard with Vengeance live and on the records Back From Flight 19 and Rock And Roll Shower. June '05 he realized one of his dreams: bring Vengeance back to life. Producer, guitarist and buddy Michael Voss, Barend and original singer Leon Goewie started the recordings of there fabulous comeback album Back In The Ring. Several CDs, European tours and major festivals followed.

April '09 time to move on so he can spent more time focusing on different musical styles.

No hard feelings, Barend wishes the boys in the band, crew and management all the best and love in the world, sure he's gonna miss 'em, but that's life !!

More info on Barend's new projects please keep on checking www.myspace.com/barendcourbois.

Vengeance welcomes new bass player Emile Marcelis, who already worked several times with Vengeance."
