NINTH CIRCLE topped off the night at the South Bay Music Awards, on April 27th, with Dave Davis taking home Drummer Of The Year award.

Dave said, "We have a blast playing our music...and one of the best things for me is that our music has a lot of opportunities to play really cool drum parts! I try to play what fits for the song: parts that will accentuate the main melodic or rhythmic phrase, whether it's vocals, guitar or rhythm section. And metal music, especially Ninth Circle metal music gives me a lot of places to play some really killer double-bass stuff...within the context of playing parts that compliment the music as a whole. And another thing, Dennis and Frank are great musicians...when you play with great players, everything just seems to come off better! For a drummer, that's a sweet spot!

“It was great to see our fans and industry people come out to support us for this event. We had a total blast! It was also great to see our friend Pam (Manning) working the red carpet as a photographer. We hadn’t seen her in a long time so it was really cool to see her out there snapping shots of everyone, especially us. All in all is was a really great evening”, recalls Frank.

Dennis summed up his experience, “The SBMA did a great job of recognizing the accomplishments of the talent we have here in Southern California. It also was great seeing several of the bands we have played with over the last year all under the same roof. There wasn't the competitive feel, but rather recognition of what we have here in the South Bay. To top it all off, Dave received the Best Drummer award. All in all... a great night!"
