Saturday, May 9th saw the Swedish metal elite together in a historic battle. A football tournament tougher and brutal than ever! The Metallsvenskan Football Tournament.
Melodic death metal masters DARK TRANQUILLITY check in with the following post-tournament update from Mikael Stanne:
"What in the wide, wide world of sports is a-goin' on here?Somehow we got lured into a soccer tournament this past weekend. For me this was the first time on a soccer field since my athletic peak in 1982 but because we put together a great team we managed to get to the semi-finals, ending up with the bronze medal.
Jonas (Björler - THE HAUNTED), Anders (Björler - The Haunted), Martin (Henriksson - Dark Tranquillity), Daniel (Antonsson - Dark Tranquillity), Anders (Jivarp - Dark Tranquillity) and Per (Möller Jensen - The Haunted) really delivered every step of the way and we had an awesome time exhausting ourselves in front of the cheerful 3000+ audience.
We are already in training for next year's showdown. Cheers and thanks to all who supported us."
