HELIX mainman Brian Vollmer has issued the following update:

"Next weekend we’ll be going into The A Room to begin recording the next Helix CD, tentatively entitled It’s Rock Science, NOT Rocket Science! This weekend we’ll be having a practice to run over the two new tracks that we’ll be recording 'The Animal Inside' and 'When The Bitters Got The Better Of You'. 'Animal' was written by Sean Kelly, Moe Berg, and myself, whilst 'Bitter' was written by Sean & I. We also have a couple more songs we’re working on already: 'Sticks & Stones' and 'Vagabond Bones'. Also on hand for Sunday’s practice will be Gene Scarpelli, who will be filling in for Jim Lawson when we play the London Music Awards on June 10th. Gene is the son of the legendary Gino Scarpelli, formally of the band GODDO.

Speaking of recording, I was recently contacted by my old friend Tate Thibideaux. Tate is the half-brother of the kid who played Little Ricky Ricardo on the Lucille Ball show. His father was the publicist for Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. Tate lives in Key West, Florida and will soon be opening his own recording studio there. He’s offered to fly me down to record a track or two at the studio to help advertise it’s opening. If it happens, it will be in September."
