STREAM OF PASSION guitarist Stephan Schultz has checked in with the following update on the band's may 14th show in Leeuwarden, Holland:

"It was an exciting day for us. The first try-out show for our ‘The Flame Within’ shows. A lot of new songs, a new drummer and a venue we had never played before. The nice people at Romein in Leeuwarden gave us a very nice and warm welcome! Thanks guys!

Unfortunately not everything went that smooth. Although we had a nice soundcheck in the afternoon, at show time (after two support acts) all the settings and mic-setups mysteriously disappeared. We had to wait a little longer than expected…

We all try to stay calm at moments like this but when we’re ready to rock we’re READY TO ROCK!!! Having to wait (and having to make the audience wait) is the one thing we don’t want to do. After half an hour all problems seemed to be solved and we hit the stage like crazy!

It felt so good to be back on stage again!!! I could feel the raw energy of my fellow bandmates all around me (especially Johan’s, as if he finally got set free out of his cage!). There were a few problems with my guitars (a guitar strap broke and my wireless system failed) but that didn’t keep me from having the best time ever!!

We had a really good set list in my opinion. New songs, old songs and all very energetic. Our heavy 7-string song ‘Games We Play’ and the heavy yet exotic and melodic ‘A Part Of You’ were really really awesome to play. Yet the highlight of this show for me was finally playing our rendition of RADIOHEAD’s 'Street Spirit' live. I was wondering how the audience would react to this song and how it would sound ‘live’. All I can say is: ‘I was BLOWN AWAY!!! Love it!

Leeuwarden, we love you! Good audience and good energy. I spoke to some really nice people afterwards… Can’t wait for the next gig!"
