News.com.au is reporting:

How far will an AC/DC fan go for a ticket to see his idols at Subiaco Oval? At least 1600km, if you're Daniel Cook.

The Port Hedland fan drove for 20 hours to Perth this week to line up for tickets.

Not trusting the internet or phone sales, die-hard Dan made sure he was one of the first in line camping overnight in his swag at Challenge Stadium in Mt Claremont on the coldest night of the year: 3.3C.

When the booth opened at 9am, he was third in line and bought tickets for himself and 15 mates.

"I love all the AC/DC songs and I am going to go to Queensland to see the Brisbane concert,'' he told our photographer Richard Polden.

And the earlybird gets the worm.

AC/DC fans who slept in are kicking themselves after Perth's two Black Ice concerts sold out in minutes.

The first gig - on Saturday, March 6 - sold out in a record-breaking seven minutes after box offices opened at 9am. By 9.07am, it was officially too late - even for a seat up the back.

A second concert date was announced, for Monday, March 8, and tickets sold out immediately.

But early publicity about the band keeping tickets to about $100 a pop appeared dashed: one PerthNow staffer paid $780 by phone for four tickets way up yonder in the third tier. It's a long way to the top if you just want to go . . .

In Sydney and Melbourne, the first shows sold out in 15 minutes. Second and third concerts were then announced and sold out immediately. Brisbane and Adelaide followed suit.

Tickets have already appeared for sale on eBay - with prices from about $200 to more than $700. And scalpers stand to make more closer to the date.
