Former ANTHRAX Guitarist Dan Spitz "Will Make A Full Recovery" From Open Heart Surgery
June 6, 2009, 15 years ago
As reported earlier this evening, former ANTHRAX guitarist Dan Spitz is currently recovering from open heart surgery that took place last night (Friday, June 5th).
Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante has updated his status: "He is recovering well - in a lot of pain but will make a full recovery. They hope to have him home soon. Whew!"
More news as it develops.
On April 1, 2005, Anthrax announced an Among The Living reunion, and Spitz was reunited with the band. They embarked on a world tour and released a DVD with footage from those performances. Following the end of the reunion tour, Spitz again left Anthrax to concentrate on his wrist-watch designs. He has since been replaced by Rob Caggiano, who was Anthrax' lead guitarist immediately prior to the 2005 reunion.
