A publicist for thrash legends SLAYER, has confirmed that on July 27th, the band will shoot a video for a track off their upcoming new album. As a result of this scheduled shoot, the band's gig at the LC Pavillion in Columbus, Ohio (also scheduled for June 27th) has been cancelled.

As previously reported, Slayer management has confirmed that the band's new album will be officially titled World Painted Blood. The follow-up to 2006's Christ Illusion is tentatively due late summer via American Recordings/Columbia Records. The forthcoming CD is being produced by Greg Fidelman in a Los Angeles, California studio and will include the album's title track and 'Psychopathy Red' (a Jeff Hanneman-penned tune streaming below).

'Psychopathy Red' (pictured below) was made available as a 7-inch vinyl disc on April 18th, as part of the third annual Record Store Day. Only 5,000 of these limited edition discs were manufactured worldwide. The blood-red vinyl 'Psychopathy Red' 7-inch collectors item was packaged in a special Russian crime scene "evidence envelope," as the song was inspired by the heinous Russian serial killer Andrei Chikatilo, aka the Rostov Ripper, who confessed to brutally murdering 56 children. The song was recorded by the band - guitarists Hanneman and Kerry King, bassist/vocalist Tom Araya, and drummer Dave Lombardo - last October.
