BraveWords.com has received the following CROWN OF THORNS update:

Little Steven Van Zandt adds another imprint to his rock and roll adventures with the launch of Lost Cathedral. The new label will focus on hard rock releases and has debuted with the latest offering from internationally acclaimed rock band CROWN OF THORNS, titled Faith, in stores now. The disc marks Crown of Thorns' first domestic release in the United States ever in the band’s career.

"Wicked Cool was formed as a Garage Rock label - traditional Rock and Roll - so when people see Wicked Cool they know what kind of music to expect," explains Little Steven Van Zandt. "Hard Rock is Garage Rock’s first cousin having come directly from the Rolling Stones, the Kinks, the Yardbirds, and the Who and we’ve been getting a lot of harder stuff sent to us lately, a lot of it quite good. With the opportunity to release the legendary Crown of Thorns new record, we decided it's time for a new label."

Lost Cathedral takes music fans out of the garage and into the arena where musicianship and bigger production is king. Lost Cathedral will be run by the same executive team responsible for sister label Wicked Cool Records led by Chairman and Founder Steven Van Zandt of HBO's "The Sopranos" and Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band fame; Jean Beauvoir, CEO, Renegade Nation; John Luongo, Label Manager; and Scott Hueston, VP Sales & Marketing.

Beauvoir does double duty not only as a label executive but as a creative force as singer/songwriter/producer of Crown of Thorns' new release Faith. The disc brings back the trademark Crown of Thorns sound that established the band as a rock powerhouse, still keeping intact all the elements of infectious guitar riffs, soaring hooklines, and great melodies. Beauvoir collaborated with Bob Clearmountain in the recording sessions for Faith as well as Mark Plati for the mix - resulting in the best sounding Crown of Thorns album yet.

June 17th NYC Show Info:

Stevie Van Zandt celebrates the launch of his new imprint Lost Cathedral and the label's first release from Crown of Thorns with a special NYC event on Wednesday, June 17th at St. Paul The Apostle Church.

"Stevie Van Zandt's Lost Cathedral Presents Crown of Thorns Live" features the band performing songs from their album Faith.

Fans can only win tickets to the VIP event via the Crown of Thorns Facebook fan page, myspace.com/crownofthorns, or by entering to win at contest@crownofthornsevent.com.

Crown of Thorns' Faith is a solid collection of rock tunes that brings back the trademark sound that established the band as a global force to be reckoned with and keeps intact all the elements of infectious guitar riffs, soaring hooklines, and great melodies. All songs on Faith were written and produced by frontman Jean Beauvoir except 'Rock Ready', which he co-wrote with bassist Michael Paige, 'Living In The Shadows' co-written with guitarist Tommy Lafferty, and 'Motorcycle Loretta', a featured bonus track co-written with Steven Van Zandt.

The CD's mystical undertones are culled from Beauvoir's voodoo heritage. His Uncle is internationally renowned Voodoo Priest Max Beauvoir, the inspiration behind the film and subject of the book The Serpent and The Rainbow. (Wade Davis and Wes Craven).

"Over the years I've incorporated elements of Voodoo spirituality in my music. With Faith I tapped into my heritage and brought the symbolism and meaning behind Voodoo into the forefront both in image and feeling. I wanted fans to experience the energy and electricity through the music," explains Jean.

Adds Stevie Van Zandt: "This event will showcase the band's rockin' live show. Crown of Thorns' style comes out of the '70's and '80's Classic Melodic Hard Rock genre but Jean's voice is more versatile than most and has to be because his songwriting covers a wider range than the genre can hold. From his most intimate whispered vignettes filled with personal torment, to his vast epic sci-fi post apocalyptic movie vistas, his songs capture you and transport you to another time and place. And the band is great enough to communicate the magic and majesty of every emotional nuance."
