MEGADETH frontman Dave Mustaine has checked in with the following update:

"Droogies!

I am so stoked to see all of the positive comments about 'Headcrusher', since this was the last song that we wrote on the record.

You see Shawn had this song and there were parts that I took out and wrote the rest of the song to, and there you have it. The concept is about the torture device, the most horrific allegedly, and the image is of a person subject to the nauseating results of a 'head crushing.'

I noticed a few squeamish schoolgirls have commented on the artwork, and I can only shake my head and be grateful that we appeal to all kinds.

This had been an unbelievable period in my life and we are embarking on what could very well be the most fitting climax to my career over the next several years, because it just keeps getting better; what with the opportunities we keep getting, this great new record, I almost feel like we have caught up to ourselves from the past. We may even surpass our greatest moments with record sales and ticket sales in concert.

Of course, this is a huge feat, but I am aiming high and with all of the dates that are coming in for the new World Tour, we are going to be right back where we stopped and then some!

We are going to be having a few new contests here and at the fan club so stay tuned. I know that Net Worth Coffee just ordered a guitar from Dean with the new album cover artwork on it for a contest. So that will be killer! Check for details here and at the fan club, and of course at www.networthcoffeebrokers.com in the next week or so.

That's it for me. Have a great day, and do something good for yourself and two things for someone else. I dare ya!

PS - the Old Friend I talked about in my TLL audioblog was Jr."

As previously reported, Cfans can ceck out the new song exclusively at the MegaFanClub.

Megadeth's follow-up to 2007's United Abominations will feature 12 songs including 'Headcrusher', 'Nothing Left To Lose', 'Bite The Hand That Feeds', '1'320', 'How The Story Ends', 'This Day We Fight' and 'Endgame'.
