Canadian rocker Bif Naked has checked in from the road with the following update:

"NamasteSalaamSussreekallSalut and salutations to everyone! Yes, Beautiful Lovey Friends, it's mid-June. Fuck me! Time FLIES and we are almost through the first, entire HALF of the year! Wow! Incredible, isn’t it? I am astounded and humbled and it makes me pause and feel deeply. Reminds me to be 'present' and 'enjoy the Now.'

Yes, I’m writing this on my trusty, wee, handheld gadget, from the back of a tourbus that is bouncy-rolling-winding its way through Northern Ontario right this minute. The sharp rock face, lilly-pad + cattail-covered ponds, and birchmaplevergreen trrees all wave at me as we pass them. I am so happy to be staring at it all, through the blur of bus window glass, from the coziness of my bus pyjamas. (Nope. No photos of those..they are covered in spilled hempshake and banana string, anyway). Yup. Time for wash!

The entire gaggle of us will be seeking out a Family Field Trip to A Laundrymat, today. Bunk sheets and stage clothes. What fun! Like a fucking TV commercial or something. It is still a 'drive day' because its so far from Toronto-to-Winnipeg (though I used to drive the vand myself, MANY times, from even Quebec City, deadheading the drive between the two cities to make the next show! And, sometimes, we DID play every place in between from Lakehead U. To North Bay to Timmins even Wawa and Dryden!). I love this shit! So many gifts it brings.

The shows have been tremendous and thundering, and I think numbers like 'Tango Shoes' and 'Sick' have enabled me to finally break-in those black, cowboy-boots-with-the-skull-on-the-toes, with my antics. My throat is, like every tour, very very mad at me. Haha! Yeah, it's pretty hoarse. Yes. I’ve tried everything ever known to anyone. Warm ups breathing pacing slipperey elmbark honey warm water throat coat silence lessons resting you name it! LOL! I find rest when I can is always super helpful. As long as I produce sound by showtime, I’m happy. Besides: I’ve been doing this for 20 years, Beautiful Ones! (Yes, DUH! I was 'underage' when we started! Hahaa! Twenty. Holyfuckingwow! I have to smile! I have to tell you THANK YOU for coming to shows. I hope I got better in 20yrs! Haha! I know the snacks are better!

And I have to tell you I could die happy every single day of my life. This winding Ontario highway and the hoarseness and the fatigue and the jokes + bus shenanigans has been my LIFE. My entire life, THIS is what I did and do. And NOW I even get pineapples! I am so lucky! Om Nama Shivaya.

And I get to witness the beauty of the land for all these years.

And I get to see YOU and your smiling faces as we play shows all over the world. I pinch myself everyday. Wonderful!

There is a freedom in being able to 'die happy' and its something I’ve always had, for my whole life. I wish that same Liberation for everyone. I never came across to much of it in the wards but I carry it in my heart (keeping my own counsel and always Staying True to My Own Path) and this tour has really strengthened my spirit, my resolve. I thank you for that. I thank the Gorgeous Earth I travel.

And I thank my wonderful tour family (and will even if someone throws their black sock in my laundry or something). And, of course, I thank the promoters of the shows for giving us bananas and pineapples and oranges and tomatos and cucumbers and even the 'boyfood' things those guys eat. I am very thankful. I feel lucky and I know you know I would basically work for bananas (but not peanuts. which I do NOT eat as they are mould-covered. Just sayin’)
