Australia’s CONTRIVE will enter the Toyland Studios in Melbourne this week to begin recording the follow-up to their acclaimed debut from 2005 The Meaning Unseen which was mixed by Fredrik Nordstrom at Studio Fredman in Sweden.

Contrive drummer Andrew Haug issued this update: “Finally, we’re hitting the studio to record what has been dubbed by friends and even us as the “Contrive Democracy”! Meaning, the album has taken what seems like an eternity to complete. There were several setbacks that can lay blame for this delay over the last few years including our bassist Tim’s motor accident whilst holidaying in earlier this year. Am happy to report he’s now all mended and ready to thrash! Ok, what can I say about the album without creating a long drawn out tangent on just how damn great it’s going to be? Ha! Well I can tell you it will contain 8 songs and musically? Well, WE DIG IT! You’ll have to make up your own minds when it’s done! More updates soon!"
