Bravewords.com correspondent Deb Rao recently spoke with TRIXTER / RA bassist PJ Farley about joining Lita Ford's touring band. The exclusive report is available below.

Q: PJ, how did you get recruited into Lita Ford's upcoming touring band?

PJ: "Lita's booking agent called me right smack in the middle of my birthday dinner and said she needed a new band ASAP! Happy Birthday, you're going to Europe to do festivals! Pretty cool present."

Q: Are you looking forward to performing with GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Bumblefoot?

PJ: "It's been awesome working with Ron. We get along great, we're from the same area and know a lot of the same people. He has endless and impressive knowledge and ability to play rare classic metal on cue!"

Q: Lita Ford is one of the top female acts to emerge from the genre. How do you plan on making this line-up stand apart from her previous line-up?

PJ: "I'm not really aware of her previous band but I think vocally this band will be top notch. We are paying a lot of attention to backing vocals and giving Lita freedom to breathe and connect with the crowd."

Q: What songs will Lita be performing? Tell us a little bit about the upcoming tour (slated to kick off on June 21st).

PJ: "Well the tour started June 12th for me. I got the call on the 8th, learned the set on the 9th, flew to her house on the 10th and then to San Fran for the first show on the 12th and 13th. It's been crazy. The set is full of the hits plus two new songs from her new album that is coming out Sept 9th, I believe?

Q: How is Ra doing? Any plans to go into the studio with them?

PJ: "Ra is very quiet these days, although we recorded one new song for an album of b-sides and demos from previous records called 'Black Sheep', out on iTunes only. No plans for anything else right now."

Q: You have the best of both worlds performing with Trixter and RA. The genre of music of both bands are so different. What are some of the highlights of working with two diffferent bands musically?

PJ: "I'm a Gemini so it fits me like a glove. I always like to shake things up. I think the highlight is being able to play for fans of all types of music. I get to play to a wide spectrum of people."

Q: How have the Trixter re-union shows been going? I know the band recently performed at the Crazy Donkey in Long Island.

PJ: "We are having a lot of fun. It's great to just be around the band again. It's like an old sock."

Q: It will be almost a year since the band re-united. Does it feel like the '80s all over again or better?

PJ: "It feels the same whenever we get together. There's a little less hair but a lot more experience."

Q: Any plans to go into the studio this summer with Trixter?

PJ: "No plans for the studio. For now we are just keeping it to doing shows and having fun."
