According to the VAN HALEN News Desk, Guitar Hero: Van Halen is officially scheduled to be released during the timeframe of November/December, 2009.

A spokesperson for Activision recently confirmed that the upcoming video game will not include ex-bassist Michael Anthony or former singer Sammy Hagar, according to RollingStone.com.

Questions about whether they would be featured arose when the game was previewed at the E3 Expo in Los Angeles and only members of the current lineup - which includes original vocalist David Lee Roth and teenage bassist Wolfgang Van Halen - appeared in both a trailer and selected song clips.

The spokesperson confirmed that only guitarist Eddie Van Halen, drummer Alex Van Halen, Wolfgang - who is Eddie's son - and Roth show up in the game.

While the spokesperson could not say whether any songs from Hagar's four albums with the group would be part of the game, it doesn't seem likely. The trailer and clips shown at E3 only focused on Roth-era tracks like 'Jump', 'Panama', 'Hot For Teacher' and 'Little Guitars'.

Further details to follow.
