THE DEFILED Arrested In Germany; Confirmed For UK Sonisphere

UK metallers THE DEFILED have been added to the line up at this year’s Sonisphere festival at Knebworth.
The band will be performing on the recently announced Jagermeister stage on Sunday, August 2nd.
“We’re psyched to get the chance to play a killer festival and be on the same bill as bands like METALLICA and NINE INCH NAILS, it’s fucking amazing! It was certainly good news to get while being away in Germany in the rain fresh after being arrested!”The band are currently on tour in Europe with STATIC-X, where they had a little trouble with the law in Germany, resulting in two members being arrested and the band having to lay out a small fortune in fines.
Bassist Drex Exel explains what happened:
“Within two hours of arriving in Germany we were pulled over by the police who gave us a thorough going over. Stitch was driving at the time so was made to take part in a thorough examination and a series of tests to check his ability to drive, he passed with flying colours but unfortunately this would not be the first time that we where to be stopped in the country.A few days later, whilst parked near an airport in Düsseldorf, as our driver was flying back to the UK to watch AC/DC at Wembley, everyone was in town except for Stitch who was asleep in the van. He got woken up by a knock on the window and was confronted by two policeman. They searched the van and found a few bags of weed plus Stitch’s knuckleduster belt-buckle so decided to call in back-up.
We got back to the van as another police-car, a meat-wagon and a sniffer dog arrived and they then ripped the van apart searching for anything else. Me and Stitch then got dragged off to a cell where they questioned us and filled in a million forms through a translator. 3 hours later and minus all the money we had made from our previous gigs on the tour to cover the fines we were released back into Germany. Thankfully no rubber gloves where used in the whole debacle.”
