Polish blackened death metallers BEHEMOTH have been denied entry into Canada today to meet up with the Edmonton and Calgary stops of the Summer Slaughter tour. Both Edmonton and Calgary Summer Slaughter shows are still happening with headliners NECROPHAGIST and SUFFOCATION. Immigration officers informed Behemoth of a new regulation regarding Polish citizens entering canada that had changed while the band was en route to the shows. With Canada Day and July 4th there was no way for them to obtain the last minute forms they required to enter the country.

An official statement from the band reads as follows: "We couldn't be more devastated, having to cancel these shows is one of the worst things we have had to do as a band. Canada has always treated Behemoth well and we were still fired up from our show in Montreal and Toronto. We can't wait to get back to these cities as soon as possible, see you all in Spokane when we meet back up with the tour! Behemoth is still slated to play on this years Rockstar Mayhem Tour on the Hot Topic Stage here in the States."

Behemoth live dates can found at this location.
