L.A. GUNS vocalist Phil Lewis has issued the following statement:

"As most of you have figured out, sadly our good friend (and bassist) Scotty Griffen will be leaving after Sweden (July 9th). One of his side projects has hit the jackpot. THE KING MIXERS have been offered a residency at the Sunset Station Casino in Vegas where he'll be playing every Saturday night for at least a year. Naturally we're sorry to see him go. It's been a true pleasure having him with us for over 200 shows over the last couple of years. He's a great musician and a very fun guy to have out on the road, He will be sincerely missed. If you get a chance check out The King Mixers in LA at The Fox and Hounds most Friday nights. It's kind of a METAL SCHOOL kind of thing with lots of great songs from the '70s played very well and a whole bunch of frivolity between songs. I've seen them a few times and they never fail to bring the house down plus they're all very cool guys. Scotty we're gonna miss you but we wish you all the luck in the world and I look forward to being invited up to do 'Jumping Jack Flash'.

And now onto the replacement. We're very excited to announce that our new bass player is Kenny Kweens from BEAUTIFUL CREATURES. We've been friends with Kenny for a long time and have tried to get him in the band several times and now it seems the stars are aligned and the timing's right so he'll be picking up the slack from Scotty. His first show with us will be opening for WHITESNAKE at the Tyson Event Center in Sioux City, IA on July 18th and all the rest of the shows we have booked until the end of the year including three weeks in Europe in September. We've been working on songs from the set in the studio with him and he sounds amazing. Kenny and Steve (Riley, drummer) have great chemistry and the music sounds very solid. Both Stacey (Blades, guitarist) and I are delighted to have such a gentleman in the band. It's our first change in lineup since Adam (Hamilton) left almost three years ago. Wo we all feel very fortunate to have such a good player join us for a very busy Summer and hopefully some recording when things quieten down at the end of the year.

So there it is. Sorry for keeping you in suspense but we needed to be 100% sure this was happening before the anouncement and of course you all need to know what's going on, so I hope you will be as delighted as we are to have such a star join us. Welcome Kenny"
