Former DEEP PURPLE Keyboardist Attends UK Armed Forces Day

More than 4,000 people celebrated Britain’s armed forces on Saturday.
Sir William and Lady McAlpine opened the grounds of their estate at Fawley Hill as part of national Armed Forces Day,
Previously called Veterans’ Day, it was renamed to honour servicemen and women past and present.
Attractions at the event, organsied by Buckinghamshire County Council, included steam train rides, a fun fair, donkey rides and a pets corner.
An air display featured tiger moths, hurricanes and spitfires and military vehicles from the past 50 years were on show.
One of the day’s highlights was the appearance of an ad-hoc rock band featuring Jon Lord of DEEP PURPLE fame, who lives in Shiplake, and singer Joe Brown.
