About.com's Justin M. Morton recently caught up with GOATWHORE frontman Ben Falgoust. An excerpt from the interview appears below.

Q: Were there ever times on the road when you thought about hanging this up?

Falgoust: "There have been rough points, but I always say maybe it’s a tough day. Play the show, get some rest and tomorrow will be a different day. Sometimes you need to give yourselves a few days and not jump the gun. Some people just jump real fast. You need to tell yourself 'it’s just a bad show or maybe things just aren’t going right.' Usually, it's just a rut and things aren’t working right. You emotionally aren’t right and things don’t fall into place. But you need to let things pass and things will sync back.

Think about someone who has a 9 to 5 job and one little thing can stop that day from running smoothly. Maybe there was an accident or you got home and the sink broke, and then you have a fit. Take that example, multiple that by 100 and put it on the road and have that happen for three days. Like I said, it’s a difficult thing. But you learn if you want to play this music this is what you have to do to make it happen.

Fans always think that you have a tour bus. But extreme metal doesn’t make a lot of money so you have people crammed into a van with a trailer. You sleep there every night for seven weeks. There are myths, and when people come around back they always ask: 'you don’t have a bus?'"
