As alluded to in CRIMSON GLORY guitarist Jon Drenning's recent interview with The Examiner, there is a movement afoot to have some sort of memorial/tribute to late singer Midnight at the annual ProgPower USA festival (Atlanta, GA on September 11th-12th).

Organizer Glenn Harveston has confirmed such with his statement, "I will confirm that Jon, the rest of the band, and I hope to do something at the fest to honor Midnight's memory."

As previously reported, today (July 11th) there will be a public memorial on the beach of Siesta Key, FL just off Midnight Passing Dr. (ironic as it is), at 6:30 PM.

Midnight (real name John Patrick McDonald Jr.) passed away on Wednesday, July 8th at 3:30am EST due to kidney and liver failure. He was 47 years old.

Midnight is survived by his mother, Patricia A. Gentry of Sarasota; his brothers, Andrew and Matthew McDonald of Sarasota; his sister, Terry April of Sarasota; his daughters, Ariel and Heaven of Dallas; and his grandson, Benjamin.

Midnight's version of the SARAH MCLACHLAN song 'Arms Of An Angel' has been posted online at his MySpace page.
