New Jersey-based metallers SKULLSHIFTER will be performing two East Coast shows in the coming weeks.

Guitarist CJ Scioscia (ex-INSANIAC) had this to say about the first gig: "We are playing a very special show on the 24th of July, for a variety of reasons. We have again been invited to be part of the New Jesey Heavy Metal Massacre, this being the fourth such show, and we'll be sharing the stage with COMBAT, DEVASTATOR, DTA, MARTYRD and RATTLEHEAD. It's is being promoted by Anthony DeLuca of Unstoppable Force E-Zine. We were lucky enough to be part of the inaugural show back in September of 2006, and we had a great time. Anthony asked us back last year for the 3rd edition, but we had to back out due to our bassist, J. McCaffrey, having to undergo surgery.

When Anthony asked us to play this year's event we immediately said 'yes'. And the date just so happened to be the 5th anniversary of our first show. However, at the beginning of June, J. told us his other band, the re-activated EXXPLORER, was offered a slot at the Headbanger's Open Air Festival in Germany that falls on the same weekend. We couldn't tell J. not to go, and we knew we couldn't cancel on Anthony a 2nd time. After discussing our options, we decided to do the show as a 3-piece, with Tom Nolz playing bass instead of guitar (he'll still be singing lead, of course).

Consequently this will be a very unique show for us, and - we surely hope - a one-off. The songs sound different this way, but we'll have fun with it. J. will be back with us for the show at Lippys in August."

Skullshifter released their debut full-length CD, Inner Demons, in September 2008. The follow-up to their 2005 debut EP, Here In Hell, once again was produced by the band and engineered by Scioscia at Le Chateau Bow Wow Recording in Watchung, NJ.
