POWER QUEST Keyboardist Comments On Prog Power USA X Cancellation
July 16, 2009, 15 years ago
As previously reported, UK power metallers POWER QUEST will not be able to play Prog Power USA X in Atlanta on September 11th. The band was denied their US working visas and as a result of this needed to cancel their attendance.
A note from keyboardist Steve Williams reads as follows:
"We are absolutely gutted that we won't be able to come over for PPUSA. We've been looking forward to this for the best part of a year and it was going to be the highlight of 2009 for us. Having spoken at great length with the promoter Glenn, there was absolutely nothing that could be done once we heard the decision that had been made.I'm so sorry for you, our fans, who had contacted us saying how much they were looking forward to finally seeing us on US soil.....and then this happens!!! Hopefully we can come over in the future and be a bit more fortunate when it comes to whoever reviews our visa applications.
We had booked flights as well so the band will take a loss of around £1500 on that alone.
Glenn has done a great job in sorting out the roster at such short notice. I'm sure you will all have a fantastic time as always at PPUSA. I'm just sorry that we won't be able to be there and share it with you."
The newly revamped Prog Power USA X festival line-up is as follows:
Friday, September 11:
CAGE

*This will be the band's tribute show to honor and commemorate the musical legacy left behind by their recently departed brethren, Midnight. Wade Black, along with several guest vocalists, will join the band on stage to perform classics from the band's entire career. The band promises to make this a once in a lifetime show.
