The Cryptshow festival in Badalona, Barcelona has awarded a special award for the film Chemical Wedding,
feature film written by IRON MAIDEN Bruce Dickinson and long term Monty Python editor, Julian Doyle, who also directed the film. The film is a gothic sci-fi extravaganza set in Trinity College Cambridge, where a scientific experiment goes awry resulting in the resurrection of the infamous Edwardian Occultist Aleister Crowley, who was immortalised into pop culture by the likes of THE BEATLES, JIMMY PAGE and OZZY OSBORNE.
Announcing the award Toni Benages the festivals director said: "Cryptshow Film Festival is proud to give our special award to Bruce Dickinson and Julian Doyle for creating such and original and uncopromissing film as Chemical Wedding and giving us the chance to screen this wonderful picture for the first time in Spain."
In thanks for the circular saw statuette Julian said: "This is the strangest but most welcome award I have ever received. I love it. It will take pride of place on my mantle piece and scare the life out of my visitors".
He also praised the festival for its dedication to showing many exciting experimental films.
