Alan Cochrane from Canadaeast.com is reporting:

With perfect weather in the forecast, Metro Moncton's concert event of the year is about to happen.

Legendary rock group AC/DC arrives tomorrow for what could be the biggest show ever staged at the Magnetic Hill Concert Site.

"This is a year's work in the making and we're almost there," André Hudon, president of Donald K. Donald Events, said yesterday as he watched a small army working under the hot sun to assemble the huge stage and light towers taking shape at the hill.

Moncton's past success with bands like the ROLLING STONES and THE EAGLES has given the city a reputation as a great place to stage an outdoor concert event and helped convince AC/DC that it had to make the Magnetic Hill Concert Site part of the Black Ice World Tour.

Tomorrow's forecast calls for sunny skies with light winds and a high of 26C (79F). Sunset will be at approximately 8:42 p.m., around the time when AC/DC takes the stage, with darkness falling shortly after 9 p.m. Fans attending the show should bring an extra jacket or sweater, along with a bottle of water, sunblock and a comfortable pair of walking shoes.

Food, beverages and lots of beer will be available at the concert site. Free water from the city's water supply is available from taps on site.

Fans are also encouraged to bring a blanket or something soft to sit on. No folding chairs of any kind are permitted on the concert grounds.

The majority of the concert site is covered in soft grass, except for the area immediately in front of the stage, which is hard-packed dirt with some gravelly spots.

Andy Gauvin, Maritime sales director for Moosehead Breweries, said the Saint John-based brewery is ready for action.

"We have almost 200,000 cans of beer on site, chilled and ready to serve," Gauvin said. "We're working at each concert to make it go faster. We have only five or six hours to put out 200,000 beer so we need to move it quickly."
